INOUE KAMABOKO TEN (Summary)

井上蒲鉾店

 About

INOUE KAMABOKO TEN was founded in 1931 on the Yuigahama street of Kamakura.

Even though a long time has passed, we still take the method at the time of the establishment.  We don't use any preservative nor other food-additives.  We are proud INOUE's Kamaboko has the natural flavor that is made by the skilled craftsmen.

 Menu

Kamaboko, Hanpen, Japanese fish paste

御蒲鉾

Kamaboko

Ever popular steamed Kamaboko called "Odawara style". Kanto-jin (Japanese in the eastern districts) cut it into thick pieces and eat them with just Shoyu and Wasabi (Soy sauce with Japanese horseradish). It would be the best pair with Sake (Japanese wine), too.

梅花はんぺん

Flower shaped Hanpen

Hanpen is nearly the same as Kamaboko. It is also steamed fish-paste. This INOUE's brand Hanpen is well-known for its good taste and moderate firmness. Besides eating with Shoyu and Wasabi, it is also good to put them into Soup, Noodle-soup, or a little bake with some lemon.

小判揚

Fried Kamaboko shaped in Koban.

Kamaboko fried in the high-quality Sesame oil is good to eat with Shoyu and some grated Daikon radish. If broiling a little bit in the toaster-oven, you could enjoy more flavor.

(*Koban is the old Japanese oval gold coin.)

静の笛

Broiled Chikuwa

Chikuwa is the Kamaboko tube. INOUE's chikuwa is named "Shizuka's recorder" that is Kyoto style broiled Kamaboko. Putting cucumber or cheese in, it will be a good hors d'oeuvre.

(*Shizuka is a girl in the Yoritomo's times. She was a good dancer and recorder player, and a heroin of a love-story with tragedy.)

伊達巻

Datemaki (rolled sweet omelet. Special item offered only in the new year season.)

We baked them piece by piece so that they will be finished with moderate sweetness, good mouth-feeling, and rich juiciness.
