ゴールデンウィーク Spring holiday week

Golden Week ゴールデンウィーク is a holiday week in Japan which is from the end of April to the beginning of May.  We have 4 national holidays during that period.  Many people take a few days off to make 7 - 10 consecutive holidays.

Tourist spots are much crowded with visitors and heavy trafic jams are seen everywhere in Japan.

Trafic restriction and the relocation of bus stops, which you might have seen during the new year holidays in Kamakura, will NOT be applied to the Golden Week.

Even so, most likely these temporary requests will be given to the visitors as needed at some places.

Some ticket gates would be closed at the railroad stations.

(so that passengers could walk in the same direction for the exit.)

To be required to wait in line at the specified place to enter some shrines, temples, and train cars.

(More than 30-minute-wait would be needed in some cases.)

One-way walking direction at some shrines, temples, and train stations.

Talking with some staff at those busy places, they say that they can't help requesting those things in order to secure safety and to avoid any confusion, while they always wish all visitors to enjoy their tours walking freely.  We think we should be patient and follow them when they announce those requests.
