  Dankazura is the one step raised walk-way running in the center of Wakamiya Oji street from near Kamakura station to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, which was built by Shogun Yoritomo as the approach to the shrine in the Kamakura period.

  That walk-way was refinished last year and all cherry trees were replaced at that time. We can see the young trees with the different appearance from that of the old, big ones.

  Genjiyama Park is one of the biggest park in Kamakura.  Cherry blossom viewing points are around Kuzuharaoka Jinja Shrine and Yoritomo statue.

  Both places are on the top of the Genjiyama hill and there are some walk routes to get there, such as from Zeniarai Benten, Jufukuji, Jochiji (Kitakamakura), Kaizoji, or even from the Great Buddha in Hase.  Google Map embedded below shows those walk routes, too.

  One of the most popular cherry blossom viewing points among the locals.  Cherry blossoms will make a long arch like flower-tunnel when they are in full bloom.  Highland ハイランド is a residential area extending over Kamakura and Zushi cities.  Land marks there are Yuhidai Park and Seiyu Store.

== Access ==

A) BUS:

  鎌36 from Kamakura station runs on a circular route. Yuhidai Park or Seiyu Store are the most recommended bus stops from where you can enjoy a walk while viewing the cherry blossoms.  View from the bus windows is also nice.

B) WALK:

  That bus route is too long to walk.  But if you don't mind 5-7 minute hiking, you would easily get to Highland area from Houkokuji.  Then you can go back to the central Kamakura by bus or keep walking to Omachi area via Nagoe Hiking Trail.

  Open folders "Hiking" and "Route Map" along with "Cherry Blossom 2017" in the Google Map embedded below to see the above mentioned routes.

  Kamakura Yama is an old hillside residential area and introduced always as a good cherry blossom viewing point.  Actually, many cherry trees are planted there, but they appear partially along a long winding driving road.

  We won't see the cherry flowers continuously and this road does not have the enough sidewalks.  Therefore, it's better to view the flowers while driving or from the bus windows than a try to walk over the Kamakura Yama mountain.

== Access ==

  Taking 鎌4 bus, "Kamakura Yama" is the terminal stop.  If you take other buses like 鎌6 bound for Enoshima 江ノ島, be careful not to miss the Kamakura Yama stop.

  Okurabakufu Ato is the first site of the Kamakura Shogunate.  It's now an ordinary area where schools and houses stand instead of being the public place like a memorial park.

  A street called Sakura Michi (桜みち, Cherry blossom street) runs in the middle of this area.
